Subtitle Search is a utility that lets you find subtitle files for your movies. The application looks for subtitle files on many different subtitle websites based on your search criteria. This is not an application that can scan your hard drive and download subtitles for your movies automatically. Some of the criteria that you can establish are: a name of the movie, its language, subtitle providers, and you can set filters for the subtitle name. You may want to filter your subtitles based on one or more words, for example. This might be useful when you have HD movies and you want to download subtitles that are timed for the HD version of a movie.
During my time with this application, I learned to use it and I managed to download the right subtitles, but not after wasting some time. The first problem that I found is that when you type the name of the movie that you want to download subtitles for, you are given a list of all the movies that match that name, and you have to double-click on the movies name, which starts the search. This might not sound like a problem, but you can't set any parameters if the search starts right away. You have to wait for the app to finish the search to set to perform it.
Subtitle Search downloads movie details from IMDB, including a poster, title, year, genre, etc.
The search results are displayed at the bottom, and they don't really offer a good description of what release they are synchronized for, which can make it difficult for you to find the right ones.
